Section 608 of the US Federal Clean Air Act requires all persons who work with regulated refrigerants on stationary equipment to be certified.

NATE is the nation's largest nonprofit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians. This certification will help set yourself apart from the others in the trade.

EPA exam pricing
Deluxe Members - $75 for core and all 3 types; Full Members - $86; Associate Members - $92; Non-Members - $108. Retakes for Core plus two types are $50, $58, $61, or $72 depending on membership level.
NATE exam pricing
Deluxe Members - $150 for core and each specialty exam; Full Members - $170; Associate Members - $180; Non-Members - $200. CHP-5 exam pricing is $75, $106, $113, or $125 depending on membership level.
